This probably is not the first time anyone has heard about these trampoline parks. You know the ones that usually find a way to fit “Sky” into the name. Well I went to one of these places last week. Not the first time but it has been a while, apparently too long… Anyway this one was called “Sky Zone” and is located in Pineville, NC.
Of the ones I have been to in the past this one focused more on the dodge ball aspect of these trampoline parks. From the outside it seemed fairly abandoned considering it was in what I would label as “the long forgotten end of a road”, but when you walk in it seems to be almost new. This could mean that it is new I just have no idea. Back to the description, the waiver process was fairly simple and easy to get through and because I was there with a Meet up group they gave me a discount. The owners were nice but I may be biased because of the pug puppy they had running around giving everyone kisses and occasionally slipping on the smooth floor.
Now the dodge ball was awesome, you can rent a space to play in which is what my group did and use it for the full time that you are there. The dodge ball field was fairly large when compared to my admittedly small experience with these places. The balls kind of reminded me of large bowling balls only fluffy. It’s too bad that when thrown the fluffiness does nothing to cushion the impact. If you are hit in those special “don’t hit me here” zones trust me you will feel it. The game was amazing with everyone playing at an intense level trying their best to succeed. I even got to be the MVP game when I won the game as the last player of my team. It will wear you out however because I can tell you now 4 days later I am still feeling muscle pain, so warm-up beforehand if you plan to play passionately.
In summary it’s a great time. I did it with people that started off as strangers and had a blast so with friends I’m sure it would be even more fun. I’m considered an adult at this point so I can say that doing something from childhood is a great way to both release some stress and enjoy the moment. It’s too much of a burden to constantly work seriously towards an undetermined future, so stop every now and then and play around. RELEASE THE INNER CHILD! No reason for all caps but felt it got my point across. Life is short don’t hesitate to enjoy every minute of it. But first warm-ups, otherwise pain killers will become your intimate friend.
